About us

Villa del Arte is an avant-garde space of originality and creative diversity. The gallery burst onto the Barcelona scene in 1999, launched by Bert van Zetten together with Marcel and Jutta Huisman. Over its 25 year journey this passionate project has evolved into a multifaceted platform for innovative established and renowned artists, singular exhibitions and daring collaborations connecting spaces, cities and souls with art. Painting, photography mixed media art and sculpture by up to 50 diverse artists can be found between its premises in Barcelona and Bodrum, as well as at its international exhibitions, art fairs, events and collaborations with creative individuals, museums and institutions.

Our space in Barcelona’s Passeig de Gràcia has a new home at number 38-40, a 650 square meter gallery on the ground floor of Hotel Mandarin Oriental and the hotel’s Mimosa Garden.

Tapineria

Located right next to Barcelona’s La Seu Cathedral, the gallery is adjacent to the historical building Pia Almoina in the heart of the vibrant Gothic neighbourhood. Uniquely, this space leads on to an exterior sculpture garden exhibiting majestic stainless steel work by Herbert Mehler and Julian Cerón Bolaños.
